Die Schwäne vom Schlachthof

30th anniversary of the Fall of the Wall

The play by Hakan Savaş Mican, which premiered at Ballhaus Naunynstraße in November 2009, takes a look at aspects of the history of divided Berlin that have not received much attention to this day. A piece about inner and outer borders has been created from interviews, in which German-German and German-Turkish history is told from a post-migrant perspective. The play Die Schwäne vom Schlachthof tells the story of the drowned children who fell victim to the shared irresponsibility of East and West Berlin and is a search for lost memories of a bygone time when the borders and walls through Berlin were still made of visible concrete.

Die Schwäne vom Schlachthof findet in Kooperation mit der Kulturprojekte Berlin GmbH anlässlich der Festivalwoche „30 Jahre Friedliche Revolution – Mauerfall“ im Rahmen des 4. Berliner Herbstsalons statt.
