East Side Gallery

The East Side Gallery in Berlin's Friedrichshain district is an open air gallery on a preserved section of the Berlin Wall that's open to the public 24/7. After the wall fell, this section of over 1316 metres was painted by 118 artists from 21 countries in 1990. The East Side Gallery defines itself as a memorial to the fall of the Berlin Wall and the peaceful overcoming of borders and conventions between societies and people.
