The Political Voice Institute was launched in September 2019 at the Maxim Gorki Theatre in Berlin as the continuation of an exploration of contemporary chorus theatre. The institute is a workshop centre for the use of the collective voice/body and language. It is a social laboratory under the direction of Marta Górnicka, which seeks to build open, diverse communities and strengthen strategies for resistance to and criticism of violence in social life. It researches and develops practices in the domain of the political character of the voice/body/language. It looks for practical answer to the question: How can the voice be used for freedom?
