Yuan Fuca

Yuan Fuca is a curator, writer and co-founder of Salt Projects, a research-based curatorial office and project space based in Beijing. Her research primarily concerns Pan-Asian visual cultures, with special emphasis on performance, video and other non-traditional media in contemporary art, film and theater.

Yuan Fuca will give a lecture-performance about her curatorial residency program on Dinawan Island near Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. In contrast to residencies that traditionally focus on the production of art, Offshore hopes to explore the possibilities of cultural exchange, regional political views, and geographical charting. Her presentation draws inspiration from artist Yee i-lann's map Borneo At The Heart Of The World.
