Phoo Myat Thwe is deeply interested and associated with Art and Feminism. She is an independent curator based in Yangon, Myanmar. She understands Art as community engagement more than a viewing subject, so she is cultivating ways to engage the public through Art. She facilitates physical and virtual spaces for exchange, by curating Art talks, exhibitions and engaging with the Myanmar public through a social media platform.
She shares her work on Yaw Ni Cafe (Vagina Cafe), a place where people are working for gender equality across multiple disciplines and can gather to share their work. It was called Yaw Ni to fight for gender equality, to support feminist activism, feminist artists and to empower the word Yaw Ni to stand blatantly in the public sphere.
