Mona Benyamin

Mona Benyamin is a Palestinian artist entering the final year of her studies at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem. Benyamin’s works deal with personal and collective issues such as identity politics, memory, language, truth and fiction and mostly take the form of time based media in addition to painting and drawing. She usually works with her immediate surroundings, collaborating with her family as the main protagonists of her works.

She shares an examination of the Outer Space Treaty and the Six Day War through which Israel had captured the West Bank, East Jerusalem, Gaza Strip, the Golan Heights and the Sinai Peninsula- both happening in 1967 and raising questions of nationality, ownership and colonization.
