Oliver Feldhaus, born in 1962, has been accompanying the refugee protest movement from many years in both photographically and supportively. The selection of his pictures which gave the festival its visual identity and which were published in the magazine of 2. Berliner Herbstsalon are just a glimpse of his extensive documentation of the movement.
His visual aesthetic, which is rich in contrast, presents the daily life of refugees and their supporters and certifies the power of political assemblies. On the same time, he also sheds light on the brutal police force and right wing demonstrations which, as a negative reaction towards the presence of the movement, erupted alongside many refugee demonstrations.
